Life Lessons or Things that have Influenced Me


The power of the ocean:  Finding myself on the other end of Daytona Beach when the family car was about 10 blocks away.

The power of people:  Getting slammed by a wave on Tybee Island as an adult and a stranger bringing me my sunglasses before I could get the salt and sand out of my eyes.

What I’m scared of:  Lightning – no doubt. It’s like I still have braces on and think my whole mouth will melt into a silver puddle.

What I’ve learned:  Don’t always jump into the latest trend, but do stick your toe into the water to test – just never forget the basics.  Keep learning.

“Stand up Straight”.  My Dad used to yell this out the back door.  I still try to correct my posture to this day. 

 “Now would you like someone to treat you like that?”  Mom.
